Turkey: This lovely piece was woven in central Anatolia sometime in the 19th century. The lovely colors are derived entirely from natural dyes. This piece was originally woven in two halves that would have been joined together to form one piece. At some point, this half was seperated from the other half. This piece has some condition issues: several small holes and wear. But... who cares. This lovely fragement is just too lovely to resist!
